will stock S4 k03 turbo work (direct replacement) for 97 A4 1.8T?

wow - thanks. So there's less heat "insulation" between the halves in the K04...
Sounds like the "temperature limiter" is an insulator, and it's been reduced in size to allow for more shaft metal in it's place to strengthen the shaft. The downside is that there's now less insulation for temperature between the halves. So long as that trade-off doesn't adversly affect it's strength in return, all is good.
Also, while the graph is a tad confusing in its shading (is there only 2 things graphed there?), it appears the S4 is making almost 1900mbar = 0.9Bar of boost. Assuming this graph is about a stock S4, this is obviously not the case. Even if this is the euro-spec S4, I find it hard to believe it's making that much boost. Any thoughts?

And for size comparisons, I like this.... (A4 & S4 content)
Here's a comparison of the S4's K03 and K04 turbos. If they were both brand new, it would take some inspection to figure out which are bigger/K04s

On the other hand, here's a comparison of a A4 1.8T's stock K03 versus APR's 1.8T Stage 3 Turbo (GT25): How long did it take you to figure out which was which in this pic? :-)
