Will VAG-COM/ECU-X/Lemmiwinks work on an apple? I am thinking of getting an apple laptop because
of how reliable I've heard apple is compared to windows based systems but I am concerned about compatibility with the above programs, and others. Would it be smart/stupid to get one, and why?

Um, your friends are in the minority, my friend...
NEW YORK--Apple continued to dominate Dell among PC manufacturers when it comes to customer satisfaction, according to the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index (ASCI).
Apple generated a score of 81 on the University of Michigan generated study that covered the second quarter of 2005, ended June 30, while Dell fell to 74. Hewlett-Packard added three points to its score, hitting 73, with Gateway sitting just behind at 72. However, when HP's Compaq brand is broken out, it scores a 67.

http://www.twice.com/article/CA6268415.html</a

fo real
i ditched windows PCs (at home) a year and half ago and never looked back.
unfortunately, i work for an IT consulting company that supports Windows XP and SBS, etc...but its good job security, because those fokkers are always breaking/crashing.

like the others are saying, get a cheapo pc for the garage and enjoy the heck out of a powerbook
they really are a great value for what you get
-great OS
--no spyware, no working viri
-incredible fit and finish hardware wise
--backlit keyboard, awesome resolutions on the displays
-lots of (quality) included software - like iLife
-goes to sleep and wakes up instantly, like it should
my powerbook has been on since July 2004. I shut it down once, to upgrade the RAM
hopefully, one day, they will port or rewrite those progs for OS X
if you get one and have any questions, feel free to email me eking_s4 [at] mac.com
