windshield wiper BT
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket wiper for the B5 - both for the front and rear? (Avant) These OEM wipers are not cutting it this winter. I've never had success with them even when new.
TIA

I LOVE my Silblades - some have hated them. I've had no problems and have had the same set on for..
over a year. That is a long time for wiper to last in Chicago with snow/ice/cold temps, etc...

http://www.silblade.com/</a

i have the winter blades from clair parts. they look fugly but get the job done.
the actual blades kinda suck. they streak.
it is unclear to me whether this is due to the frame or the actual blade.
but the frame is wrapped in rubber so they don't get clogged with ice. my stock passenger side never worked at all in the winter. it would only contact at the very ends.
one word of note is that the passenger side blade is not curved as the stock one is. actually i think both blades are the same size.
this morning i woke up to 2"+ inches. i just turned on my windsheild wipers and drove away. BTW, it's also about 10*F so the snow was light and there was no ice.
a friend used to have a 2001 1.8t Avant. he always used the summer blades. we're talking about VT in both his and my case. northern VT.
he swears by them. just always says, you have to clean them out well. i'm way too lazy for that.
winter weather package should have come with a heated windsheild. bastages!

I like the new UltimateBlades from Valeo, check tirerack or ultimatewiperblade.com
and use promo code=secretdeal and pay $29.95 instead of $39.95.
In the past I used Silblade and Bosch Micro Edge Excel and they all suck.
