Woohoo! Just got my car...only cost me $376.64 to get new brake pads!
I roll in there early this morning, expecting to have my car ready, as promised...but I'm not that lucky. Last night they tried to put the spacers on with the old bolts, but they weren't long enough (only like 2 threads caught...not very safe!). They didn't have anything longer in stock, sweet, I still can't drive my car. I call Terry Griffin as my last hope for the bolts, and he has them!!! So they throw me in a new Passat (don't care for how it drives, but at least the new tip doesn't kick you out of 1st at like 2mph) and head over. I get the bolts and head back, and have them slap them on...finally, no more problems, and I get my car back!
$337.76 parts and labor
$38.88 new bolts

You should have just done them yourself - as soon as there was any hint
of there being a problem, you should have done them yourself - well - at least now you know, and knowing's half the battle.

I have Kahn RSS's, which uses the stock size bolt. I had to add a 5mm spacer for clearance...
thus the need for the longer bolts (I thought the stockers would have had a little more depth than ~5mm holding the wheel on, since there was only one thread grabbing after the spacer)

Next time I will...I was just kinda pressed for time - just wanted my car done early this morning...
I was supposed to drive to LA this morning, and was hoping to get my car early enough so I could still leave at a decent hour (didn't happen). If I'd known I wouldn't be travelling today, I would have gone out and bought new pads and done it myself.
