Would a SuperAFC work on an Audi S4?
I realize the ecu pin outs would have to be figured out, but basically all an afc does is modify the maf signal (which the Audi has) to read less air flow than actually is coming through the intake, therby leaning out the a/f mix. I assume the S4 ecu uses fuel maps, so this would be a nice tuning tool to make the car go faster, worth at least as much as an exhaust (my guess is 30 hp).
Any thoughts as to why this wouldn't work? An afc is real nice to have, especially when changing to racegas...

Re: why?..you can get better maps with a chip
Umm,
With an afc I can tune for the daily weather conditions like humidity, type of gas, amount of boost, not to mention the ACTUAL INDIVIDUAL CAR!

I have one on my S4 and yes it will work. It's working with my Blitz BOV..more
I can see you are also a DSM fan. I used to own 2 Eclipses (91 GSX, 97 GS-T) and went to the DSM shootout at Norwalk, OH for 4 years so I know that car pretty well.
The Eclipse responds really well to the AFC but the S4 is an entirely different matter. Not all the signal wires are compatible with German computer so you will have to modify the input wires. It is possible since my car now runs with both the AFC and the HKS AFR as well. I need both to fine tune the car for the BLITZ BOV's.

Re: IF you get it right and have your own AWD dyno
One more thing. AFC's don't do ****. At the most you'll get 3 or 4 more HP. If anything, get a fuel controller, that's more important than the AFC anyways because it will allow you to run more boost safely. A lot of fools here are complaining about blown turbos and ****. That's because they're running too much boost without adequate fuel. Thus causing detonation. A GReddy Rebic III is a great fuel controller, and I actually recommend that if you're running anything over 1.0 BAR boost. later

who cares about a better map... its all about having a cool looking device in the dash..
and you can tell your friend, you can "tune" your car on the fly (yeah right...) so they look up to you.

Don't tell me AFC's don't do anything. I will e-mail you a dyno chart for a Supra TT that gained 50rwhp at redline and 15 peak rwhp with an AFC, if you wnat to see it. They may not be that affective on an S4 (I don't know if anyone really knows) but on other cars they are great.
