Hi,

while poking around my ECU with VwTool I found datablock 51. I could not seem to fool it with 1->3, 3->5, 4->6 upshifts or similar downshifts (gotta love the torque!). When I let the clutch-out the correct gear was always displayed. With clutch-in the gear says "0" whether or not you are in a gear or not.

Hmmm, I wonder if our tuners could arrange special boost and fuel mappings that are only present for a certain gear :-).

/dan

It would be cool if you could get your selected gear to show on the display like the Tips do.

That could be really useful info. Any idea where the sensor for the gear selection is?

No sensor, calculated from speed and RPM.

Default My chip (Sportec) has different boost levels for different gears

I would guess that most other tuners would also know how to do that.

Is the boost higher/lower in higher/lower gears?

To be honest, I don't know for sure. I think it's higher in low gears
