Default 2013 S6 TSB 19J1 & 68E3 - Detailed info

Had my early 5K service done and sharing the 2 TSBs (based on VIN Audi campaign action) since I did not see a consolidated thread:

TSB 19J1 - 4.0 I Quality Package (NVLW)

- Criteria 01 and 02:
Software Version Management (SVM) update for the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
S6/S7 - Old software version is 0005. New software version 0006

- Criteria 03 and 04:
Replace coolant thermostat and quick release coupling. (Criteria 04 did not apply to my VIN)

Criteria 05:
Install protective grille over radiator

Criteria 06:
Replace ACF hose.

Criteria 07:
Replace oil filler neck (did not apply to my VIN)

Also getting TSB 68E3 done and will obtain more details later today. Please feel free to add if you have this info now.

EDIT (8/8):
TSB 68E3 -

On A6/S6 (2012-2013) A8/S8 (2011-2014) equipped with an electric sun blind for the rear window, the blind may stop functioning if it is fully extended several times in quick succession. SVM update for the comfort system central control module.

Can't wait for the Trans Adaptation to be fixed to eliminate the harsh downshifts.

Thanks for the info. I don't suppose there's a way to break these down to VIN ranges?

For 68E3 they wrote it up as:
"Client states does not like the parking brake turning on when the doors open"

Action:
"As per request 5782599 0.30 deactivated parking brake lock while vehicle in motion."

I assume .30 is the tech time.

They told me that this TSB only addressed the brake going on with the door open, not the brake going on with every ignition-on. Will report if the ignition-on behavior is different tonight, I got in the car and drove straight to work.

the new reflash did fix the jerky trans downshifts in sport/dynamic mode. It still downshifts somewhat aggressive but way more tame. It's not jerky at all.
Anyone know if the thermostat is a different temp than original?

It does takes a while to cool down the car and even after the engine is warmed up, it still does not feel very cold when I turn the fan to a high speed. I can only compare my experience with my current and past cars. Hope the TSB to replace the coolant thermostat will take care of this.

EDIT - stand corrected: the coolant thermostat is meant for the engine temps monitoring.

Chris, glad the TSB fixed your jerky downshifts. I also requested for the trans adaptation logic to be reset just in case.

Robert, nothing specific in the TSB document which only states "See Campaign/Action screen in ElsaWeb" for the VIN range. I will try to obtain the VIN range from the tech, if at all possible.

ElsaWeb is no longer available online.

This must be for the earlier 2013 S6's since my car is at the dealers getting lowered and nothing popped up with my VIN. The took delivery of the car last month, so I assume most of these open items have already been completed on the late model 2013's...

Just obtain this about TSB 68E3.

On A6/S6 (2012-2013) A8/S8 (2011-2014) equipped with an electric sun blind for the rear window, the blind may stop functioning if it is fully extended several times in quick succession. SVM update for the comfort system central control module.

On the ride back in sport/dynamic mode, the downshifts seem to have minimized significantly. Time will tell.

I called a service advisor and provided my VIN and indicated I was coming in for my first service 5k. I was told that the only thing that shows for my vehicle (2013 S6) is the software update. I checked and I don't have a rock screen covering my intercooler (and I noticed a few deep dings already too!)

I think the screen is a good idea, and I'm not sure why it wouldn't be standard for all S6's? Do you think there are some intercoolers that are "weaker" than others and thus the reason it's not applicable to all? Or, is the service advisor missing something?
