Just purchased 2018 S6. Not really happy with the Bose system, but I heard that the B&O system was not that wonderful either. Anyone have information on the location and sizes of all the speakers in the Bose system? Any recommendations on replacement?

Well a lot has been written on this subject on Audizine & Audiworld. The 2016 and newer S6 MMI seem to have a different interface so the Mobridge DA1 digital preamp interface apparently is not compatible. Bose has some odd equalization, so swapping speakers without adapting proper equalization may produce unknown results. In addition, there is the subwoofer discussion & Audi automatic noise cancellation (ANC) system interaction,

Starting in 2016, the C7 went to MOST150 and the mobridge is no longer compatible. That makes aftermarket audio more difficult.


I just got my audio system rebuilt again. Picked it up yesterday, actually.

Rebuilt the kick panels and A pillars. Swapped out the 10" midbass in the kicks for some 6.5" drivers. Added tweeters to the pillars, and rebuilt the trunk for new amps.

I was blown away by your efforts on the first build, and now just simply amazed. Incredible. And all I've been able to do is to disconnect the uncontrollable center dash speaker - I am ashamed

Here's a look at the front 3 way speaker setup.

Audible Physics Brahma T1 tweeters and NZ3AlBe midranges in the A pillars.

Dynaudio Esotar E650 midbass in the kick panels.

All speakers have removable, magnetic grills.

I had owned a 2014 S6 with the Bose for 3+ years and just traded it in for a 2018 S6 with the B&O. The audio quality of the B&O is distinctly better than the Bose system.

Looks like NAV TV has a MOST150 interface now.

Does the new S6 use MIB2?
