I spoke to a local APR installer this week. I asked about ECU tamper detection and he just repeated what everyone says on these forums. Which is everything from "Audi can't tell" to "don't upgrade if you can't afford to be caught". I say expect worst case and you won't be surprised. Establish a rapport with the service techs also. You can mitigate the risk by asking them to not scan the ECU but that is no guarantee that some tech doesn't get the message.

I also asked if they could get me in contact with a customer who had the APR stage 1 installed on an S6 so I could get actual feedback and he hesitated. Something about not wanting to release customer info. I asked if he could get a customer to contact me and he remained reluctant. However, they do support a 30 day money back guarantee with a $100 fee just to flash back to stock.

I know APR looks at these posts. Maybe they can factually confirm that flashing back to stock is totally undetectable?

If I didn't have CPO car it would not matter and I am just about to turn the odo past 50k miles so the std warranty is a moot issue. The hardest part of all of this is will be convincing my wife that $1500 plus tax is a wise expenditure to go stupid fast!!

^ APR never gives out customer info. Nobody from APR is going to tell you it's undetectable. Good luck with the wifey, lol.

this was not APR proper but one of their approved installers. And you would think that positive testimony would bring more sales...just sayin'

Positive testimony from an installer will definitely bring more sales to them no questions asked. But when it's not the truth they will have problems and less customers over time.
