It is an easier choice since (I have learned) I can't safely fit all 4 wheels with tires in the S6 (trunk is about an inch too shallow to pile two of them). Thus I need a second delivery and pickup vehicle and two extra trips to the tire shop. PITA.
I moved forward the passenger seat and got my four 19" wheels with the mounted winter tires in the rear of the S6, though with no room to spare.

Put one wheel+tire in the trunk. Fold down the seat backs. Lay one wheel flat in the center of the folded seat back, and then "rest" the other two wheels onto the center wheel. Something like this;

//--\\

// = wheel 1

-- = center wheel (2)

\\ = wheel 3

The 4th wheel will be in the trunk.

That's how I've always transported an extra set of wheels in the B8 S4 and C7 S6.

Did a little winter driving tonight. The A/S 3's performed well.

It was 67 degrees outside.

Default Thanks - I may try

Yeah, I was able to get two tires in with the seats folded down. It didn't occur to me to try that configuration because I was afraid that the tires would get loose when driving (its downhill most of the way) and ding up the lovely interior. I have the tires on an extra set of 19" OEM wheels and each must weigh about 55 lbs. I do have the wheels/tires in tire totes so it will keep the interior clean. To be honest, its a stretch to even get them in the rear doors - though now I'll try.

Unless you drive really aggressively, they shouldn't move around. I either put the wheels/tires in garbage bags or totes to keep the interior clean as well.

Thanks for the advice. I just noticed your ride - more power to you if you get the 21" wheels & tires in the back doors. BTW, I ended up with glacier white because I bought off the lot (It had everything else I wanted and the comfort seats are nice). I've never owned a white car but I really like it, especially when you see it next to a conventional white.
