New s6 or s7 questions
So I just got back from driving a 2016 s7 and I'm curious was it just this one that rattles more then the 6? I had a 2012 a6 for a few years and never had any rattles. This s7 was a year old with 13k on it and the first thing both me and my fiancé said when we got out was damn it rattles a lot.
With the color and options I'm looking for its most likely going to be an order so just looking for opinions from you guys with some miles on them. Do you find the 7s more prone to rattles with the hatch vs the trunk on the 6?
Biggest draw for me for the 7 is I can stuff a 10.5 easier with more concave when I get my wheels for it. My previous 6 ended up with 9.5s and very flat. My current 2015 jeep Srt is lowered with 10.5 and 11s staggered and I like the concave look.

There have been some threads about rattles but they are not exclusive to the 7's. Usually the noises are from loose sway bar hardware and rear strut mounts.
If it sounds like it's from the rear hatch, check the two arms on the rear of the privacy screen and check the removable "shelf" directly behind the rear seats. The shelf snaps in place by pushing it forward.

No, that's not typical.
Last year, I test drove a 3 year old S6 (dealer had trouble getting new stock), and it was like driving a bucket of bolts. Must have been seriously abused by the previous owner. Got back in my 6 year old A7 afterwards, and it felt like a bank vault. The S6 was on air suspension, and my A7 was on much stiffer and lower S line chassis suspension. Never a peep from the hatch area on the A7, it is a strong design.
You never know what a used car has been through.

Kind of figured that. My 2012 a6 prestige with sport on 20s never gave me any issues in 4 years and even after I gave it to my mom it still drives solid. Just that being my first time driving a 7 had me worried.
