Default Bye bye TT

It was a blast while it lasted, but I have to move on. I'll be returning to audi soon I'm sure, probably for GF car once the 4runner is paid off.

Hans or Elf, do you guys work on evo's at streamline?

Thanks everyone for all your help in the past 3 years.

Yeah, the guys from Cobb brought their Evo and STI up for the autocross a couple weeks ago, great guys. Just wanted to make sure Streamline didn't do work on these because I like sticking with 1 garage - even though I only had to come down there once.

There are certainly things I miss, like the seats and gas mileage. I always loved the look of the TT, so I miss not seeing it every day. I don't miss having every guy in a civic with a fart can trying to race me. I'm the only one in town with an evo X, so most people have no idea what it is. I'm too old for all the revving and street racing crap, so it's nice to not have people around me trying to show off.

I did run 1 auto-x with it in completely stock form at the end of Sept, and it's a whole new handling monster. Amazing control around the cones. I took 1st in A-stock and 16th overall in PAX with 84 competitors, so I can't wait to see what it does with some R-comps.

My only big complaint: the gearbox is garbage. It's notchy as hell and takes a few miles to warm up every day before it gets even slightly fluid. I loved the TT's gearbox, and this thing would benefit from a 6th gear more than anything.

So overall, I'm very satisfied with having a 4 door car that's much more practical and an better driving machine.

Default You bought an EVO...seriously...who are you trying to kidd?

I think an "EVO" is more prone to ricers trying to race you. If anything you added to your "problem" of 'street racing crap'.

Especially if that is the only EVO X, then you must be really trying to show off.

To each their own [opinion].

Oh yeah, BTW, EVO screams race me....I mean...seriously...look at that picture....it's pratically designed around a 'street race car'.

I've had 1 person try to race me in 2 months, and it was a guy in a STI with Utah plates. I'm in Pocatello, and there's probably 2 other evo's and maybe 2 STI's of any year in town. I can only tell you what I've experienced. Everyone wanted to try and chalk up a "kill" against the TT. I say it's retarded because racing should be done on a track, not to make fun of anyone for trying to prove what their car can do. (Although I do take issue with fart tips)

And exactly what do you mean by "Especially if it's the only one in town, then you must be really trying to show off"? I thought the TT was much more show, much less go. I certainly didn't buy either of them to be admired by anyone, if I was into that I would have bought a corvette. I bought this car for 4 doors and auto-x. You seem to have some issues that I really don't understand, but that's alright - I don't care to. I made a post to thank everyone for their help which I am sure I will count on in the future because I am a huge fan of audi cars, and will likely return to one when the 4runner is paid off and my significant other needs a commuter. Good luck getting your issues sorted out.
