Darin's 2.3 20vt......fired up
I was having some oil pressure problems, but got those fixed by shortening one of the main studs that crushed the anti-drain back valve in the block. Once I got that sorted I hooked up the injectors and plugs and turned the key.
The first try resulted in a smooth as butter start up and a nice purring idle.
Have to button everything back up and get her on the road for a short break in. After a couple hundred miles I'll put 20w 50 fully synthetic in and let her rip. I'm anxious to see what this engine will do.
2.2 to 2.3 liter
lightweight lifters and high rate valve springs
7A cams
8500 rpm rev limit.....
This thing should fly.

Well....where do I start....
Do I start with what I bought the car for or just the recent build?
I got the car in 2004 for $3,000. It came with the roll cage, one sparco seat, 2 bennett coilovers, brembo 4 piston calipers on 13" rotors, delrin control arm busings, aluminum radiator, an extra 20v ported head (which is now on the new engine) and a bunch of other misc. stuff.
I then had bought a 200 20vt with the 3B engine I first had installed. I parted the rest of the car out and broke even with that purchase.
Then there is the header, intake manifold, 3" downpipe and exhaust, standalone, turbo, injectors.....list goes on an on.
Then the most recent engine build. JE Pistons, Scat rods, valve springs, head bolts, mains, lifters, on and on.
Including the purchase cost, probably about 12-15k. It hurts too much to actually count it all. ;-)

Not that terrible, considering you built it up yourself and you know it will be solid.
or atleast you hope so ;-)
So when does AudiWorld get a ride?
and why the hell aren't you an AW project car owner??? hmmm?

Yep. BBS wheels. I forgot too, extra set of super clean speedlines,
a bunch of cool audi brochures, a bucket full of new engine parts, and ton of other things.

Soon, very soon.
I buttoned up a little more of the front end last night. I need to get some new hose clamps for the intercooler and then break in the engine.
I'm not an AW project car owner because there are a lot of 20vt projects. Mine is just one of the many.
