Default Audi a6 2008 tail lights

hi
I have a 2008 A6. There is a warning sign that appeared mentionning that my rear back light, rear fog light and rear brake light (all 3) need to be changed about 1 month ago. The warning appears about 1 minute after the car is started. I finally decided today to change all the bulbs. Same warning appears with the new bulbs! I left my tail light dissasebled to further determine the problem. I start the car, all the tail light bulbs light up. No warning message. After about 30 seconds, the tail lights all close and the warning appears immediately. Thus, obviously not the bulbs the problem. Is there a fuse for the rear right tail lights?

thanks!!

I had a similar issue a while ago, it ended up being corrosion on the ground pin in the tail light connector. I feel like it would be worth a shot to take a look. It's not too difficult to get the tail lights out of the car.

Hi,That is exactly what I did after a bit of ressearch. I disconected the connector, used sandpaper to sand the aluminium pin of the brown connector, reconnected everything and.... it work!!!Thanks

Hi John

There's a few threads on this issue and the only real fix is to get new rear light assembly.

Thanks for the info. I found someone who said that he twisted the ground pin by 10 degrees which solved the problem.

Thanks once more

I had the same issue...and went with the fix that works, a new light assembly.

Since I twisted the ground aluminium male portion of the plug by 10 degrees and put small paper staples lateral the the female pins to make the connection tighter, the warning signal has not recurred ( repair done 8 days ago. Hope it stays like that...)
