Default Love the car. Hate the tires.

Is it possible to replace the run-flat tires on the 2018 Q7 with regular tires? I am asking because I am planning to purchase a Q7 this weekend. I currently have a Honda Odyssey that came with run-flat tires (RFTs). I hate RFTs. I would much prefer regular tires. I have heard horror stories from people about removing RFTs from an Odyssey - supposedly it sends the on-board computer crazy because it no longer receives input from the tires. Any truth to this? Has anyone ever done it with a Q7?

Honda used a "different" type of technology for run flats that required the use of a very unique wheel. They used a special Tire Pressure Sensor in the wheel as well, and if that sensor is missing then you can expect the issues mentioned above. Audi has neither a special wheel, nor any Direct TPMS sensors to worry about, luckily. Audi does offer the Q7 in a non "run flat" configuration, so the car won't know the difference.

We told you you can dump those run craps and get regular tires and they wont set off the TPMS.
