any aftermarket place to get a right CV axle for a 2007 S6?
I have ordered a right CV Axle for a 2007 s6 from Autozone and AutohausAZ, got the same exact (non-fitting) item both times.
Original Performance 407 04 074 is supposed to fit both A6s and S6s, but AutohausAZ said the other 10 times they sold it it was to owners of an A6 (no other S6 owners), so they theorize that the manufacturer is wrong to say it fits an S6.
It is about 3 inches longer than the one they pulled out of my S6.
Can anyone steer me to a source other than the $600+ OEM one?

Raxles.com - got both front axles from them for my ‘08 S6 (and previous A6), it was a few years ago, but if i recall probably 600 for both, but don’t quote me, then send back the old ones for core charge, can’t beat them

No problem......sadly i totaled the car (well, insurance did) after an old lady ran me off the road and i’m now in a c7 s6, but dam i miss that car!! - anyway, those axles were doing great up until august......

For what it may be worth, I am extremely satisfied with the front axles/CV joints I bought from Raxles. I discovered a torn boot on the right side, so I replaced both about 60K miles ago.
