Fuel consumption indicator
On this efficiency meter, on the left side of “Zero” it is green and then there is a picture of a green battery. What does this mean or can anyone tell me what this is indicating? I took my TDI on a 4 hr cruise yesterday and got 5.9 liters per 100 km. Amazing. It went into the green a couple of times during the trip.
Note: this is not a video as it appears. I only snapped a still from a utube video.

In the 4.0 it means that the vehicle is not placing a demand on the electrical system so it is charging the battery like it should. I imagine this to also be the case on your TDI. Also on the 4.0 the bar turning green means that cylinder deactivation has kicked in. Not sure if TDI has this feature as well.
