True but he wants Apple CarPlay in the VC which isn’t possible. By CarPlay, I assume he wants something like android auto on the VC (I assume Apple CarPlay is the same as android auto for android)?

It's an Audi limitation. Audi integrates the CarPlay interface into the VC in the TTS because there is no secondary screen.
