Default Question about ECU being cracked

Hello,

Question - Now that our ECU is cracked, what kind of power bump do you think we'll see for stage 2 with 91 octane? Assuming you have all the supporting mods (IC, DP, exhaust, intake, etc.)

Thank you!

Assuming the golf r/ s3 platform is any indicator, barely any over a jb4 and your power train warranty will be gone.

Dunno why people are so stubborn about this.

The only thing you'll get, maybe (if you are lucky) is a cel cancel for the downpipe. But even that's not a sure thing on these new cars the O2 sensors are extremely touchy.

Seconding this... would love to know peoples thoughts... I’ve heard one UK tuner has got it up to 540/540+ on their dyno after only a few quick coding sessions... heard someone else say the platform can handle the 700+ range with a turbo swap... we all know the 4L can push 700-900 easy with a tune... so I’m guessing 3L should easily be able to hit the 600 range... but I’m also not a tuner, so I’m just speculating. What do people think?

540 "on a dyno" literally means nothing, its like saying you're a billionaire in a currency you made up.

The only way this car will ever actually be in the 600 range is if the engine is fully built and a twin turbo setup is fitted. Custom development $40-$60k - Kit if it ever came would be a full built crate motor swap ($20k), TT setup ($10k), Transmission upfit ($5k) and all the associated labor soooo, $35k + Labor? $45-50k out the door

Maybe someone will be insane enough to dump that money into this car, but it wont be anytime soon and the person who does will be quite insane.

Maybe he meant 540 on an RS5...that is not beyond the realm of possibility.
Stage I S5 should be more in the 450 range...making an S5 similar to an RS5 power-wise but with only one turbo. Doubtful any trans update required then since RS5 uses the same trans.
Will be interesting to find out since turbo tuning makes more power and less hardware than the B8 supercharger tuning.

Looks like APR is getting started with their RS5 tune:

If you are truly worried about voiding your warranty i would suggest not doing any tune including piggyback.
