Has my adaptive cruise behaviour changed?
Hi all,
Odd one - I am convinced with the ACC the behaviour has been drive... pull the lever towards you and it sets the ACC by default to the speed the camera/nav has detected. i.e I'm on a 40mph road and the Virtual Cockpit shows 40mph... pull the lever and it automatically sets the ACC to 40mph.
But since getting the car back from Audi - and I know a software update was carried out, this no longer happens.
In actual fact, pulling the cruise control lever towards me does nothing. The only thing that switches it on is to click in the set button on the side of the stalk and then set the speed by moving the stalk up/down.
Am I losing it here or did the initial way of working is indeed how it is meant to work/did work?
Thanks!

Look for the “Predictive Control” setting (Driver Assistance). Maybe previously you had “set speed limit” and the software update defaulted to some other value. Covered on Page 160 of my 2022 manual (USA)

In my 2024 since ive had it on December, pulling the stalk towards you past the notch does nothing but primes the ACC to be ready. I then have to pull it again and it says non distance cruise control. I then have to push the stalk up.

I thought the behaviour had changed too .... but I put it down to me just getting used to the new car ('24 Q5). Now, after ignition on, I have to set the current speed (press on end) and then from then on it seems to work as expected with speed limit changes etc etc

I went into that screen a number of times but for some reason completely missed the fact there was a settings cog.
Almost everything in that menu had changed since the update - Just did a round 70 mile trip and was so much better! Only issue is the A3 which clearly states 50 mph but the car just spins up to 70mph which is the usual speed had it not been for the long-running roadworks.
Thank you for this - Feel silly now not digging further. I don't look at manuals for the digital side ever because it is just easier going menu by menu customising it and learning it but driver assistance features have just always worked so likely I never dug into it enough to notice another layer of settings.
