Power window problem

Well, I found my first problem with my '99 A6 Avant. The right rear window doesn't work. I guess I should've tested all the windows before I bought it.

Anyways, before I start digging with my multimeter, I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if so, can you steer me in the right direction?

I read somewhere that the window regulator was a recall item. True?

I'm taking the car to the dealer on Friday for trans fluid flush and filter change so it would be good to know if there's a recall.

bad window track

I would think if it's a bad track, I would still hear the motor energize. But absolutely nothing happens when I push either the driver's button or the one on the door.

the anti-pinch may be shutting it off

I'm pretty sure only the fronts are covered. Have you tried both switches??

I have the same problem. Rear window is operated only by central switch, not by individual.

Sounds like the lock-out switch is bad!! Hold down the rear lock-out button and try then.

bringing this thread back to life.

Skategoat, did you find a solution? I have the same problem with my rear drivers side window. It just quit. No response to either switch.

I was wondering if there's a fuse somewhere that can be checked? Owners manual and fuse panel don't specify any fuses being for windows.
