Remote/key help please... Switchblade ???
I am sure everyone is sick to death of key questions but I have read all the threads and still don't know.
Right I have a late 1997 Audi A6 (C5 European) 1.8T and it has the non switchblade type two button key.(I have 2 of them and they both work fine)
On opening it up the circuit board has the No VDO 5873 and the internal chip has(VDO E519 / XLAA9714 on it)
I purchased a used 2000 AUDI A4 Keyless switchblade entry door remote With Lock, Un-Lock and Panic Button (Red Button on the side of transmitter).
The circuit board has VDO 3998 and the internal chip has VDO M060 / XLA B9835
I understand the blade needs replacing.
Right, question is :
1.Is the switchblade remote compatible with my car at all (Swapping the electronics won't work as the boards are not the same size)
2.Would it work if the chip from my original was soldered into the switchblade one.
3.Any other suggestions ???
