Check Engine light just came on (00' 2.8)
I started the car up this morning and the Check Engine light came on. Well was not sure what the problem could be becasue i drowe it last night for few hours and have not seen any indication on what could have caused this to happen. What is currently happening is that the car's rpm's are at 500 and keep moving up/down constantly, cant stand still when the transmission is in "D" and the car feels like that it is about to shut off. When i place it in "N", it does it a little less, but the rpm's are still not stable and seems like something is choaking the car. I dont have the machine that reads fault codes but was wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem before. It also seems like that the transmission is stifer and not smoothe like it used to be. I guess my best bet would be to take it to the dealership for checkup. Any info would be appriciated!

trying to check the codes, see what they mean
I was reseraching through the forums here, hoping that someone might have had the same problem in the past. I have called AutoZone and they have a code reader with right codes for the car. Much cheaper to diagnose the problem that the dealership. Once i know what it is, should be easier to fix. Have you had the chance to find out what the problem is and how long have you had it?

Check Engine light is off but...
After driving the car that day with the light on, i wanted to take it in for a check up. I turned the car on the next day and the light was off. The car seems to be stuttering now upon start up and initial operation. I wounder what it could be, maybe the vacum somehow?
