Extended Warranty or not
The company is SGI Services out of Texas and can't be bought if the car has exceeded 12k miles. It's $2174 ($100 deductible).
I've never had a vehicle extended warranty but then I've never had a car this complex and expensive to fix. Your comments will be appreciated.
$ for $ about the same, but again it's Audi-branded although underwritten and administered by another company. They offer different levels of protection, also up to 7 years. There's no current requirement for mileage other than you must still be under factory warranty, so (again, per today's rules) you could hedge for a couple of more years.
Personally, given your driving frequency/pattern, I'd think you're not a good candidate for extended warranty. You simply don't drive enough for many things to go wrong or wear out. 4 years from now, you'll still be around 30k.
From what I can recall of your posts, you've had a lot of questions and had things checked out, but not many actual failures, right?
By the way, many of these warranty sellers are *not* the warranty providers, so you have to find out who's providing the coverage on the backend and whether they're financially solvent.
Mine has been great...they've put about $4K into my car without flinching.
I purchased a zero deductible warranty from Warranty direct. It was a 5 year or 150,000 bumper to bumper coverage for about $2,500.
So far they have paid around $6,000 in repairs. (Are all Audi's as bad as mine?)
The dealer loves it because I go in for service and tell them to fix whatever it is because it doesn't cost me a dime!
And the Warranty Direct people have paid every time!
