Why is it so hard to find a battery in Norcal?
So frustrated last Friday. Stopped for 2 minutes & car won't crank at all left me stranded. I even have to use my hands to push the window up.
After I jumped started it & drove home. Went to Kragen, Pepboys & Autozone, none of them have the right size. Most have group 94 for $120 but read here that it doesn't fit and some don't have the vent hole. Called Sears & they don't even carry anything for the A6. Ended up calling a dealer & they don't have one in stock & have to wait 2 days. Luckily another dealer has it for $100.
Just really annoying that there's no warning at all prior to this, voltmeter wasn't showing low. The only strange incident was brake warning came on once a few days ago. Wonder what that battery light is for? Sorry for the rant.

Agree w/ BernieBenz - your problem is looking for an A6 application - the battery you need is either
Group 49 or 48 - Johnson Controls makes the private label ones at AZ, Advance, and others. The CCA rating will likely be higher than your OEM battery, and size may be slightly smaller, but at least on the B5 chassis there will be pre-existing threaded holes to accommodate this size battery. Less $ and better power capacity than the OEM - plus a better warranty to boot. BTW, if you are Costco member they have the best price and warranty. Got mine there.
