Why does my car keep randomly misfiring? I took my car into Redmond European to get fixed on Friday. New Spark plugs and a coil pack. Later that day it started to randomly misfire. Yesterday it didn't misfire at all and then today the car all of the sudden just started misfiring continuously and the service light now is blinking. I've only had the car for two weeks... have other people had similar problems?

Wrong Plugs?
A couple years ago I replaced the plugs and suddenly had a misfire. I pulled the plugs to compare with the old ones and found one plug that was not the same (right box, wrong plug inside).
Fortunately, I got ahold of the right unit before doing any further ignition system damage.

The ICM's are located on top of the airbox - high temps could be causing intermittent failure. The
reason these are located on the airbox is so they can be kept somewhat cooler than the ambient underhood. They are bolted to a heat sink and if the heat transfer gets fouled, that could be causing the trouble - or they are simply going bad but haven't totally failed yet. They just malfunction when they get hot enough.
