Anyone with a Bentley that can look at a starter replacementf for me?
I need to get mine setup on my new computer.
Anyway, I'm having trouble with the car not starting. I get 12V at the solenoid when the key is turned, but no starter action.
There appears to be a bit of corrosion between the starter solenoid and the starter itself, it almost looks like a braided wire that has failed, not making ground.
Anyway, it looks like I'll be pulling the starter either way. Any quick pointers to get me going would be appreciated!
Also, does anyone know if the solenoid can be changed by itself? I checked bimmerparts.com but it says the solenoid is temporarily unavailable, I'm thinking it's not sold separately.

Follow up, found the problem
The small ground wire between the solenoid and the starter case is corroded out. Jamming a screwdriver between the the 2 contact areas gets the starter cranking when the key is turned.
So, now all I need to do is get the starter out!
And figure out how to fix it...
