JUST GOT MY CAR BACK!!!!
FINALLY!! It has been at the body shop for 2 weeks waiting for parts to come in. I posted earlier that I caught my fromt bumper lip on a parking block (like an idiot) and reversed, thus pulling the front bumper assembly forward 2 inches. The clips on the car and the full bumper piece broke, and had to be replaced.
Pros:
1. brand new front bumper with perfectly matched paintjob
2. Brand new lower bumper (the black part) with new lower grill piece and trim
3. Therefore, no little pockmarks from rocks, etc that hit the car with normal highway driving any longer
4. The thrill of getting into the S8 and gassing it after a two week absence!!!
5. Turning in the Cadillac Sedan DeVille back to Enterprise (What a dog!! Big engine, but I felt like I was 80 years old)
Cons:
1. $1685.20 lighter in the wallet
So overall, I am happy. Stop driving your cars for a week or two, and drive an American guzzler (God Bless America, then get back behind the wheel of a superbly crafted Autobahn crusher, and it will feel like you just got a new car again!!! woo-hoo!!!!!

I'm sure a far cry from the 97 you brought by my place once.
You should bring it to Grattan next year in April.....the only thing I would suggest is some track pads and a brake fluid change out.
If you buy the pads and the fluid, I will change them for you at the hotel on Friday night....

Grattan sounds sweet. I will try to make it..I do live in Michigan now...
...I also spoke with the shop that mounted my winter shoes today...they are a great european shop...i wanted to see if they could modify my exaust like Sven's S8 (i believe it was his) with the crossover etc, and they told me to bring in the write up he did, and they would probably be able to do it!! So that is next. Do you think that will void the warranty?

Congrats!!! I lost my '99 4.2 for ten days to the dealer (75k service and others=expensive), and that long in a Camry made me crazy...seemed like a month. Had it only two months now since being stationed overseas for 4 years, don't know how I ever drove anything else.
