drivers side breather hose procedure. DONE :)
Just finished replacing rear drivers breather tube. What a PITA. (for me!)
But now, I can do in about 1/2 an hour!
Paul, I don't know if you think it is worth posting on Audi pages.
Here is an easy procedure:
Tools required: two clamps, left side hose, air ratchet, air compressor, 5/16 socket(it has to be with multiple ridges not a normal6 side socket) (or what ever size the clamp is)and miscellaneous common tools.
1 remove the shields
2 remove vacuum actuator.
3 remove the old hose. (I ripped it toward the bottom and then used long flat screwdriver to unlock the metal clamp on the bottom removing the rest.)
4 lock the new hose at the top. (hose has a lock built in and locks in to the engine.
5 Use two hose clamps on the bottom. You need 2nd one as a spacer to separate the clamp used for locking from the engine body.
6 Insert both clamps on to the hose and slide the hose on to the tube
7 Slide bottom clamp all the way to the bottom (engine body-it can rest in any direction)
8 Slide the top clamp all the way toward to the bottom clamp. Lower it with the bolt/thread part parallel to the fire wall and then rotate it toward the engine. You should have bolt head pointing to the fire wall.
9 Now this is the treaky part that took me about 3 hours to figure out!  It is very difficult to tighten the bolt. There is not enough space for a ratchet or anything else. There is one thing that can be used and very efficiently. Use of compressor and a ratchet is required. Under certain angle, air ratchet together with 5/16 socket (this was the size on of the clamp bolt) will fit through the opening and can reach clamp bolt.
10 Use a small crow bar or large screwdriver to hold the clam in place. (insert the crow bar and "step" on the clamp. Tighten the clamp bolt and you are done! 
11 Reassemble what ever was taken down.
