Any way to 'disable' trunk unlock button?

Any way to 'disable' trunk unlock button?

My wife is concerned that if we leave the top down, since there is no way to lock the center console where the gas and trunk buttons are, that we can't safely throw stuff in the trunk. Is there a way to lock or turn off the trunk button?

Lift the switch and disconnect the wires (about 30 seconds)
