Default Newbie with questions

I'm still on needles and pins (with a s**t eatin' grin) about my "new" ride, a 2000 coupe woth 24,000 miles, bought used on a lease return. Love everything about it, but there are some odd noises I'm a bit concerned about. Any comments are greatly appreciated.
1. At cold start, just after shift into second gear, there's a scraping sound that seems to come from the rear lower left side of the engine compartment. Sounds like the mud flap scraped over something, and I can almost feel it, too. It doesn't happen again until the car has gotten cold, at which time it doe it all over again. Any ideas?
2. Also after a cold start, after about 1 or 2 miles, when the car comes to a stop, I get this "click-clacking", almost like a train accelerating over tracks, from right around the right front wheel well. The noise speeds up, then abruptly stops, and doesn't come back until the car is cold again.

Of course, the dealer can never duplicate the sounds, and I can't detect any "real" problems. Are these just idiosyncrasies of this car, or am I being too **** (or both). Any insights?...I can see there's a lot of knowledge out there.

All that said, I LOVE my baby.

Default I've had issues with 2nd gear grinding on a cold start...

Are you sure thats not what you are hearing?

As for the other sound, do you have your climate control (particularly the AC) on when this happens.

I'll have to check on the climate control thing, but I don't think so. TTanks.

I had similar issues w/ my BMW when the Sh*tHead repair person replaced the clutch and filled it with Gear oil instead of Tranny fluid.

found out b/c I had sounds, and stiffness, and decied to switch to RedLine.
