Well, I tested the Valet EMCS program on my APR chip tonight ----
It is the coolest! It felt like I was driving a John Deere....Ok, it wasn't *that* sluggish, but it didn't have much ooomph. I did get up to 45 mph going down a slight grade, but it took about 45 seconds to get there. Next, I put 'er in stock mode for a nostalgic ride aroud the block. Nice ride, but still far inferior to chipped mode. Damn, I love this chip. I'm having the Mobil 1 put in Thursday, so, just in case I cleared my fault codes and locked the chip in stock mode. Cool.

So when you lock the car in stock mode, AoA can't detect? I suppose if there was an issue (warranty repair) they could see if they removed the ECU that it's not an Audi chip or did they re-programme the Audi one?

Some answers --
APR claims that the chip is not detectable -- UNLESS -- the dealer takes the ECM out and opens it up and physically looks at the chip itself. And, it cannot be "flash" coded back to stock -- I assume because APR soldered the new chip in place and it has some sort of "flash" protection -- this I'm not real clear on. I will not tell my dealer I'm chipped -- I actually don't know how they feel about it --- but I won't lie either. If asked, I'll tell them the truth. I"ll risk the warranty. If something happens, and Audi can show that the chip was to blame, then hey, I knew the risk. Kinda of like getting caught speeding.
