No - actually it will help with blocking the heat.

are you talking about using stock box instead of the heatshield?

Would putting the stock airbox back on over the new intake take away from the perform. of the intake

Default It might...

I have the Neuspeed intake. It comes with a heatshield, I think the LLtek does as well. Im not sure how you would fit the box over the intake with the heatshield in place. If you have to remove the heatshield to do it (which I dont think you can, it acts as the mounting bracket) - it may be not worth it. As far is the amount of air that is taken in, im not sure if the box would restrict it in any way.

In short - if you dont like the sound of an intake I wouldn't bother installing one. In my opinion the performance increase is negligible.

Default No.....lid does not seal the intake assembly.....>>

The lid simply serves to direct the incoming air from the fender vent, and possibly reduce the intake of hot air pooled under the hood. There is plenty of open intake area into the filter chamber so no need to worry....I'm working on an insulated cover for this syatem that will further improve the intake charge temp...stay tuned.
