2000 180 FWD TT- code P1116. can anyone help with this?

2000 180 FWD TT- code P1116. can anyone help with this?

anyone have a manual or have any experience with this code? 2 sources told me different things- one said ECT sensor out of range, the other said its the heated o2 sensor open.

anyone have a procedure to diagnose what it is? and component locations?

are you running an aftermarket downpipe an/or cat?

your car has 2 02 sensors on a stock downpipe; 1 before the cat and one just after. Aftermarket DPs can cause codes if the 02 sensor bungs are positioned differently; I haven't had any codes with my Techtonics DP. If it's stock, see if one has come disconnected, or the wires to it damaged. As for "ECT" are you sure it wasn't "EGT" - I'd assume that was exhaust gas temperature sensor, which could be related to whatever is wrong with the 02 sensor.

Any problems with CELs on non OEM catback exhaust systems?

on catback alone, I've not heard of any. I haven't had any, with full TB.

i only have catback. ECT- engine coolant temp sensor. the light came on the other day too.

ill check out the 02 sensors out tommorow.

Ok, ECT...duh. ;-) To help you locate your O2 sensors,
