Default Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect FLow Detected and Lean code Update FIXED!

After 3 months of back and forth between my old audi tech and several other highly qualified people (AKA friends in the know)...I had my Secondary air pump changed...several hoses changed -- pressure tests -- dv changed, maf changed, o2 sensor changed, temp sensor changed, kombi-valve changed.... and always giving the same codes... more pressure test --- more hoses changed... more pressure tests... clamps changed...my computer changed back to my stock.. started to have a totally new secondary air system -- pretty much changed everything thing... seriously...but after all that... CEL, CEL, CEL, CEL... 16795 P0411 035
Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect FLow Detected or
Lean Code...

I took a chance another tech who said he could fix it...later 6 hours (spending about 2 hours everyday) after changing some more hoses and testing every valve and subsystem related to the whole intake system, a lot of curses (i'm told from his assistant) and changing a "solenoid" (I still have to fnd out which one because it wasn't stated in the paperwork) --- IT'S FIXED!!! It's been 5 months with a constant CEL and it's nice to be back to normal -- I'm afraid to mod anything... gasp... But I'm so freak happy to drive me car without a CEL... knocking on Wood... One whole month without a CEL.... feels good... Damn Good... I was hoping to share more info, but my New tech is super busy... So when he has time I hope to share what he's learned... Thanks for all your help and support!

Default most likely, it is the relay for the secondary air injection. a relatively inexpensive part...

about $13 or so. when that goes, most suspect is the secondary air pump itself...which is an expensive part $200+...and when that is changed, the CEL still comes on.

when i cracked my relay open...it looked like it was rusted with moisture. i'm not sure of the location, but could be affected by rain coming into the engine bay and some leakage of the relay itself (not totallly sealed properly).

Default wow...I'm surprised.....

and definitely not trying to impune anyone's knowledge or ability, but 2nd air systems in Audis are pretty simple systems, given the right information. Even in the V6-V8 cars, where there are double the number of combi-valves, vacuum feed lines and pressure hoses, I have yet to work on one that's taken me more than 3 hours to diagnose and repair.

good to hear it's fixed though
