Default Electrical Problems Update

A few weeks ago I posted that my car had developed problems with all of the central locking functions. I took it to the dealer and the diagnosis is the controller for the central locking system is probably shorted. It could be wet or corroded wires/connectors or it could be the controller itself.

The dealer seemed to know what the problem was almost immediately. It turns out there is a common problem with the Roadster having the drains under the top clog and cause water to back up. Under normal conditions it isn't a problem but in heavy or long periods of rain it can get bad enough to short this controller.

Supposedly the controller lives somewere behind the seats and under the top. The dealer wants 460.00 for the controller and 3-500 more for labor since a good bit of the interior has to be removed.

Does anyone have a Bentley that they can use to identify this part and how to get to it? The drains also... I guess I'll be ordering one today.

Default It is behind the passenger seat, under the top storage area. You can get at it from the trunk and

through the access hole in the top storage are when the top is up.
I don't have pictures save for these that show the general location.

This is the connector for the old phone module. The central lock/alarm module is nearby.

it's a bugger to get out, but I doubt the dealers claim that rain or water has gotten to it.
this module in up half-way on a bulkhead, and dos notdrag it's connectors on the floor panel.

Default Thanks Jeff. The claim is somewhat believable since the dealer laid out the conditions

without any prompting from me. It is a dealer so you never know, that's why I ask here.

I've looked in that access panel before and it's tough to get to. How do you access it from the trunk?
