Battery dead and wont charge>

Before I go and take the time to replace the alternator, are there any other problems that could cause this?

Sure. Bad battery.

If it's 3 or more years old, suspect the battery before the alternator/regulator.

BCI group 48 fits perfectly.

My battery did the same thing.. Replaced it and everythings all gravy

I was out of town for 3 months, and mine was dead as a doornail!....>>

Got it jumped, and headed for Sears, was running rough, cluster was freaking out and...then it totally died in the middle of I-90!

Got another jump, got to Sears for an install ($ 13 for the install, but I had to help the guy put it back together right). Die Hard Gold International (Group 47?), and all is good again! Mine was 4-1/2 years old.
