PepBoys scam???
Hello all,
So I went to PepBoys... They tested it and told me I needed a new battery. Battery plus install was approx $260. See below. The printout on the right is the one they presented to me. They said "couldn't even get a CCA value. You need a new battery."
I then went to Advanced Auto, where they tested my battery in front of me, machine read 'Good Battery.'
I then open my trunk and next to the battery I find the print out you see on the bottom left (the one the tech probably didn't mean to leave in my trunk). This has two different CCA readings...
I am using my old battery and it seems fine. And my Audi reads battery at 100%. Anyone familiar with batteries/testing? Trying to make sense of this.

gstas, do you know how old your battery is?
If the Battery Meter in the MMI is showing 100%, you're likely OK.

Yes MMI battery shows 100%. I don't know how old it is. Easy $260 dollar mistake. Wondering how people many have gotten robbed by this situation.

Do you know how old the car is?
Batteries will typically have a date code on a sticker or embossed on one of the posts.
If you have VCDS, you can do your own scan for battery condition, etc.

If it's a good quality battery, that battery should be OK. Keep an eye on the meter in the MMI.
