Hey question for Hans about his Split Second MAF tuner>>
I searched the forums quickly and hit up the Split Second <a href="http://www.splitsec.com/">Website</a> but didn't find the exact info I was looking for.
I saw Steve's post that I linked to below. I was wondering what use you had for the device?
I'm currently replacing my MAF (2yrs. old) and just want to know what this device does exactly. Does it just improve the signal that the MAF sends to the ECU? The website specifies that it converts different types of signals... did you switch to a more reliable sensor and decide to ditch the OEM MAF all together?
I remember seeing a write-up in your Fotki (I think), where you located this Split Second unit under the passenger dash somewhere. I've read that your car is one of the better running/more powerful TT's, or at least that has been claimed on the forums.
Also I just wanted to understand what software you are running too. Is it a soldered GIAC program? I have a GIAC 93 flash in my car, once I'm interviewing you here might as well learn more!

It allows you to scale the MAF output...>>
But it was a PITA and $$$ to install to do it right. Han's never dialed it in, so it's just sitting there...Not really needed if you have a healthy MAF. For fuel tuning an adjustable FPR is lots more affordable.
Seemed like a cool idea though. personally I'd skip..
