A6 Tip Chip install recommendations
I have a 2002 A6 4.2 and would like to chip the transmission. I'm located near Libertyville and looking for recommendations on a) chip manufacturer and b) closest installation shop. I contacted Dubwerks but have been unable to get them to respond. Any recommendations on alternatives much appreciated.

They are a bit discombobulated at times, but their work is top notch. I'd suggest sending them an email.
To my knowledge, GIAC is the only company who makes a tip-chip. There are others, namly APR installed by MotoPersona in Lombard (I think). But APR does not make the tip-chip.

I hear ya....
If you are persistant, yet not a "pest", Rich will take care of you.
On the flipside, I have had my GIAC chip (no tip-chip) installed for about a year without any problems. Installation took about 30 mins and was painless.
They might have also been on vacation all last week and the prior. (benefit of the doubt).

Mike, just go there and introduce yourself like I did.
I was there on Friday and Rich took the time to talk to me for a half hour. He is difficult to get ahold of but at least you live in the Libertyville area. I live in the city, but like anything else, sometimes you have to be persistent if you want the best.
