Weird noise...any ideas?

Weird noise...any ideas?

Well heres the quick story. I'm new to audi, S4's, and turbos. I bought my 2000 s4 in the summer, it has about 74k on it. I'm currently at school. My car was sitting for a few weeks and last weekend I went to take it out for a spin. Drove it for about an hour and only took it hard through one turn, and through this cruise I didn't hear any noises. I just picked it up today because there is some extra parking near me and when I would rev it in the low end I would hear a slight whining noise, which would highten in pace as the revs climbed. I'm pretty sure its not the turbos, could it be the timing belt? I'm also not sure if the timing belt has been replaced yet.

you hear it before the oil temps go up, right?

ive noticed this when the weather changed. turbo cars make those light whistle sounds, some cars are lighter than others. they make a faint sound when the oil is cold. it gets much less noticeable, almost undetectable, when the car warms up.
