Illinois Photo Laser?

I was motoring in a 45 mph construction zone when my Val one indicated a laser bogey up ahead. I then saw a trooper standing at the roadside with a handheld device aimed in my direction. He held it up to his face, as if he were taking a photo. Looked at the speedo and it read 51...oops. He did not get back in his car nor did I see any troopers stationed up ahead on the road pulling cars over. Anyone know if the Illinois is using photo laser? If so, I will have to watch my mailbox carefully for a possible ticket. I am aware of the photo radar, but no radar bogeys were indicated on my Val one.

I thought there was an article in the Trib that they were going to do that.

it most likely was not photo. They need a big box of equip. to get photo. He was just aiming the

laser at you. it has a relatively narrow beam and reflection pattern and the troopers aim at something shiney on your car like your front plate to target specifically you.

It would be bigger, I think he was looking for a bigger fish than 51 in 45, I think u r safe.

Well, that is the way Laser radar is used...

The thing is like a gun with a scope. You aim the thing using the cross hairs at the object and pull the trigger.

The photo ones are a ton bigger.
