Default Just get a V1 and wait for the in-dash display

Sounds like a dream! (ok a $200 one!)

Default the last time i saw the K-40 detector in a comparison test, it didn't do so well

as for the laser jammer, i don't know if this one actually works, but i've seen some of the other license plate jammers reviewed and they did nothing.

it seems like no matter how good the laser detection is, you are still going to be clocked before you get a chance to slow down.

i'd be happy to be proven wrong on the last point.

Default Steve is correct, however

Laser has to be line of sight (ie not round a corner) so if you've got a good detector you can pick up for a far distance.

On the way too (and back) from TTWest my V1 was picking up straight link Kas for almost 3miles! Since then I've picked up laser (straight line) of another car which was being zapped with Laser and then you can slow down

Default Wish I was that lucky when they tagged me a few weeks ago....

Few cars on the road, clear day, cop parked 90 degrees to the road and shooting out his window. Click, Zap, Bang, $70, it was all over. (V1 equipped)

Default Sorry to hear that Steve, yup no defense there

I guess I was lucky as I got the bounce from the other car he hit with Laser otherwise I'd have been zapped too.

Default Speed trap story: I was driving down 294 in Chicago this weekend

and I saw a cop in between the center walls in the direction of opposing traffic. I thought "I'm OK, he is facing the other way." But once I got close enough I could see that he was aiming the laser in MY direction. Then a few hundred yards down the highway were four or five police cars lined up on the shoulder that were taking off like fighter jets from an aircraft carrier. I guess the "clocker" was radio-ing the speeders to the other cops.

Considering I was going about 80 in a 55 I thought I was nailed for sure and just about soiled myself when I figured out this operation. However, I wasn't stopped. Sometimes I wonder exactly how fast you have to be going to get stopped...
