Anyone have a breakdown sheet, or just insturctions for taking out the grille and middle bottom...
Pop the hood and you will see that the upper grille has several retaining clips holding it in place. The lateral clips are the most important [and strong], and that is where I started.
The lower grille is more difficult to remove. You definitely want to work from above, once you lift the hood. Someone once posted that all you need to do is "pull on it." I think you will have better success [i.e., not break it!] if you push down on the black, plastic retaining tabs [2, I think] that protrude through the metal supports, behind the grille, while pulling on the front, slowly. You can see the tabs when looking down behind the bumper, from above. Be very careful not to damage the fins on the intercooler [cover with a thick towel].
Both grilles will snap back into place with gentle pressure applied evenly across their faces.
Check out my picture poster to see what the OEM grille looks like when installed [though it isn't on a black car].
