Default Re: xpost: Nokia 3360 HF Install

I currently work for AT&amp;T Wireless and let me inform you that you shouldnt waste ur money or time in istalling a nokia 3360 car kit. The phone is going to be discontinued soon in the states due to the fact that all of the companies including At&amp;T, Cingular are all moving into a GSM only systems. Therefore the way to go is to wait get a GSM upgrade from your carrier and make sure the upgrade you get does have BLUETOOTH. You can then get a Bluetooth enabled carkit from Nokia, SonyEricsson, Parrot. Well thats my opinion some BMW 7 series and I belive the audi A8 its going to come with an optional Bluetooth Hands Free kit. If you want more info e mail me. Nokia CARK-112: Wireless Car Kit $229 MSRP<ul><li><a href="http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_accessories/carkits/1,1431,,00.html%20,">http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_accessories/carkits/1,1431,,00.html%20,</a</li></ul>

Default hands free install is much easier in the B6

there are pin-outs on the head-unit you can plug the mic, speaker, and 'phone' interupt line into. The wiring diagram is on the top of the head-unit. If you do a search for 'motorolla 6160' you can probably find some pix.

Default I assume you meant Nokia 6160 and not motorolla 6160

Have you tried to do a search here on this stuff? It lists thousands of posts and you can't tell if they have a picture or not.

Why would a Nokia 6160 help me in installing a Nokia 3360? Would the tech article on the 8260 not be more accurate than the 6160?

I am looking for help from people that have done this install.

Thanks

Default That's a good point but...

Can you honestly say that every current model of phone is not near EOL (End of life)? Seems to me that a phone model has a life span of about 1.5 years. Both my wife and I use the 3360 and as I said b4, I really like (and use) the built-in modem. If I can get this kit installed for under say $300.00, I'm willing to live with this phone for a little while. Remember up here in Canada we are a little slow in changing our technology (hell many people still use the Motorolla Microtac 650!)

Thanks for the stab.

Default I can't imagine the install being all that much different than any other handsfree car kit.

Wiring is relatively all the same. I'm waiting for a few more parts for my HF kit install (V60i). You should look around ebay and froogle.com for best prices for the handsfree car kit for your particular phone. Also, even though companies may be switching to GSM, unless they are going to provide new free phones to everyone who does not have a GSM phone, they will continue to support their existing customer base.
