It was bound to happen. Made my car slip going thru a corner. But man was this road a blast!!

On my road trip yesterday it was mostly hwy, but then at the very end i was going through a 3-4 mile road in the Shenandoah Valley, south of Staunton, VA (rt 701 in case any of you have ever been there). Going there, it was nice and dry, nobody on the road, and just loved it the whole way through. So of course, i went back over it twice before finally going to house I was heading to :-D . Oh man, beautiful turns that you could hit going 50-60, wide enough to not worry about wrecking the car in a ditch or hitting on coming traffic.

But then on my way home, it was right after a thunderstorm, so it was all wet. I took it a significantly easier than before, but this curve, a '30mph' warning sign type of curve, i guess i hit too fast. Don't know exactly what speed, but almost half way into it, the car slipped a bit. I can't remember if i was gassing or not, i don't think i was, so I guess the quattro wasn't doing much at that point.

The other thing though that i noticed was the there was no ESP indicator flashing. I thought that if ESP kicks in, that warnging triangle w/ the exclamation mark lights up?

anyway, it wasn't much of a slip, i barely fishtailed at all, didn't even cross the median, so I was all right, but at least now i have an idea of the car's limits

A lot of people forget that Quattor will not save your *** when you start sliding..... 4 times zero

is the same as 2 times zero.

I did push my car in a corner in rain and my ESP light did come on.

your math is great but, you do have 2 times the chances of finding >0

That is a beautiful area. I grew up in Lynchburg, VA. I would love to take the audi back home...

and hit the Blue Ridge Parkway and do some fun driving with this awesome machine....

Quattro doesn't make you and your car defy the laws of physics... so just be careful.

Also, Quattro only works when you are applying power to the wheels. If you let off the accelerator... there's no power to transfer to help you get going the direction you need to go.
