OT: Managed to avoid a run-in with an obnoxious cop on Friday...
First, I almost had a little run-in with a cop on RT91 in VT on the ride up. I was third in a line of 3 cars in the left lane, passing a slower car. We're doing about 75mph and going about our business when a car pulls up behind me and gets within a few inches of my rear bumper. He was so close that I just kept my speed and resisted the urge to stab the brakes. After a few seconds, we got by the car on the right and this a$$wipe gunned it into the right lane before I had a chance to get out of his way (my signal was already on to get out of the left lane). As he passed my on the right, I realize that it's one of Vermont's finest, without a lightbar on the roof. So, he got around and pulled right in front of me to ride the *** of the next car. Well, that guy took the bait and took off to get away. Sure enough, lights went on and the jerk pulled him over.
I couldn't believe how badly the cop was driving and basically harrassing people. Granted, speeding up to get away (they probably hit 90+mph) wasn't very bright, but the cop instigated the whole situation. Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't me!
Second, Vermont has some awesome, windy roads. Very scenic and fun to cruise. Unfortunately, it's not as much fun when you're cruising in a '97 Explorer, and your A4 is parked safely in CT. :>(
Oh well, hope everyone had a good, long weekend.
