Back tail lights keep going on randomly at night, battery keeps dying

So my back tail lights keep going off some time after I leave the car. I took it into Audi service and they said something with the voltage apparently was wrong, although once again it's gone dead on me. I have an aftermarket remote start system although I didn't even engage it last time, I manually locked the car with my key and it still went dead overnight. Any ideas what the problem could be with the tail lights?

sounds like you have short somewhere in the line

and it might very well be from the remote start install. You should talk to the folks that installed the remote and ask them to check the connections.
