turbo upgrades on 03 B6 A4?

anybody getting kits out of the states?
i'm not sure they have developed them yet
seems my only option in sydney is to pay $18000
for muller upgrade
ouch!

any tips people?

sounds like you need to do more shopping around, there are a few options, or you could import a kit from the states and get a decent vw/audi workshop to fit it.

looked at the ATP site but they dont seem to have developed a stage 3 for the later models.
any ideas where to look?

you could check out the 1.8T forum on vwvortex, lots of stuff about the 1.8t in the golf mainly but some of it applies to the A4's aswell, if nothing else, you will at least find the name of some of the people making turbo kits for these cars. Most of them offer stage 2 kind of kits, but there is some pretty serious stuff out there if you don't mind messing around getting it right.

have done a bit of turbo surfing there
but seems like nobody has modded anything past an 02
and there is always the worry that even though it fits the golf, it wont really fit the audi

There are some being release.
The main issue is the B6 engine is far weaker from factory than what was supplied in B5 cars.
Main differences are Caste Crank instead of forged, and Thin Conrods and small wrist pins.

General concensus is b6 engine is good to 290-300hp mark.
AWE tuning has been developing their kit for over a year now, and is about to be released with 290-300 hp levels.

Anything more than that, you are looking at a engine rebuild using far stronger parts.

I'm very happy with my K04 upgrade

Its the cheapest turbo upgrade available but for around 180kw's who's complaining. How the hell you got quoted $18k is beyond me. Good luck, you really need to research on A4/Passat platform, researching on the transverse motor will give you ideas but may waste a lot of time by the time you find your specific application.
