Strat. ShortShifter question.

I installed the shifter about a week+ back, and I made sure all bolts were torqued. everything was fine and dandy until about 2 days back when reverse became difficult to engage. then yesterday the ring clip for the spring slipped out and every time i place it back in place it lasts for about 5 pushes to get it into reverse and slips out. Any one have any helpful advice, complaints, any input at all about the shifter.

If you stretched out the circlip too much you probably need a new clip, but try >>>

Try taking off the clip, close up the circle carefully with pliers, then refit the clip using only your fingers to finesse it on to the shifter shaft, then carefully slide it down into the groove by hand until it clicks in.
